As an African American woman, who completely understands your question. I think that a lot of men are interested in dating black women, but just don't know how to approach us. In my past dating experience (I'm married now) guys jump at the opportunity to get to know black women. I've met guys who have been interested in black women forYEARS but never had the opportunity to really get to know us. Online they have that opportunity.
If you're interested in the other guy go for it. I was amazed at how much dark skin is admired. It feels good to have someone appreciate your beauty.

I am 6' 2" and in most of my experiences, men are intimidated by my height and the way I carry myself. Over the years, I have learned to read ones body language and have become quite the aggressive one in taking the initiative. Sometimes you just have to take that first step, especially being above average in height : ) You go girl!!
